What is the true meaning of faith? I describe Faith sometimes as the Way of Positive Thinking. No success in life is possible without the ability of Faith. Faith is one of the greatest sources of power from which we can receive strength. If you focus on problems, you will get more problems. If, on the other hand, you look at the possibilities, you will grow and expand. Our thoughts create our reality. Good thoughts bear good fruits, bad thoughts bear bad fruits. This is the universal law of cause and effect (known as “karma” in Sanskrit). We could bring paradise to earth, if we would live in harmony with this fundamental law of creation. But the opposite is equally right: we can create hell on earth, the wheel of suffering as the Buddha said, if we ignore this law. One of the best examples of the Way of Positive Thinking is contained in the Prayer of the Lord, which Christ (in my opinion the Master of Positivity) taught his disciples:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven. “
In essence, it is an initiation into the Way of Positive Thinking through the spiritual power of prayer. If we pray to “our Father in Heaven” we affirm our connection to everything that is true and lovely, beautiful and divine, we cultivate noble and good thoughts in our mind, leaving no room for negative ones to take root. And if there are negative thoughts, they will gradually dissolve or be transformed “by the renewing of our mind“, as St. Paul said. That’s the process of “salvation” through “forgiveness“. Salvation is the letting go of all negativity. Only when we create peace in our own mind can there be peace in the world. It is not possible to change the world or other people, but we can change our thoughts, our state of mind, the focus of our consciousness and that will change the world (“the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible” ~ Charles Eisenstein). But this will only be successful, if we trust the process. The world we see around us, our personal and our collective life, is build on a story and we can create a higher and better story, from a planet full of conflict and separation, fear and hatred, to a planet based on a new consciousness of oneness and universal human values.
“We are all here to contribute our gifts toward something greater than ourselves, and will never be content unless we are.” ~Charles Eisenstein, The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible
The human souls know intuitively the transforming power of good storys. This is probably the reason why people have an infinite desire for good storys, those great jewels of our highest imagination. There are enough bad stories in the world, but never enough good stories. We need stories that inspire goodness, faith and hope in the heart of humanity, to see and realize our potential and overcome evil with good:
“… If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. “ (Romans 12:21)
Such is the power of faith.
“The way to get rid of darkness is with light; the way to overcome cold is with heat; the way to overcome the negative thought is to substitute the good thought. Affirm the good, and the bad will vanish” ~ Joseph Murphy, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
We can differentiate thoughts into two classes: thoughts that belong to the world of thought alone and thoughts that express itself in our daily life through action, deeds and virtues. Our thoughts can only have a real impact, if we become the embodiment of our thoughts. If Faith permeates our whole life and the center of our being, it can raise the whole world to a higher level: our thoughts become things. We all can work “miracles“, they occur naturally as expressions of love and goodness – we only must take the leap of faith that is necessary. The first step is to change our own mind (invisible) and the second step is the expression of our new state of mind through our way of life (visible). Your state of mind matters!
