Light does not attack darkness, but it does shine it away. Jesus never fight against the darkness and ignorance of the world, he simply shined it away through the power and authority of his mind. We can’t change the world, but we can change our mind and this renewal of our mind, this “metanoia”, will change the world.
„Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.“ (Philippians 2:5)
This is a great pointer to the self-realization that our true identity is the Mind of Christ, because we are all extensions of the eternal Life and infinite Love of God. We are true followers of Jesus, if we follow his way of thinking and accept the mind of Christ as our own mind. In fact, to be a „Christian“ doesn’t mean, that you only believe in Christ, that you go to church and follow a certain belief-system and say yes and amen to a certain theology. All this can be really helpful, but this is only the first baby step. Your mind must become the mind of Christ, that’s true spiritual maturity. Paul said it in Galatiens 2:20: “My old self (or old mind) has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but (the mind of) Christ lives in me.” And if your mind is christlike, if you see all things with the vision of Christ, if you set your mind on things above, your circumstances will reflect that back to you. Circumstances doesn’t matter.
Your state of mind matters.
